The Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC), a coordinating Youth body cited a call for the removal of the Minister for Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, in a daily by a faceless group who disguise themselves as a Coalition of Youth Organisations.
The NYC says that those who clamouring for the Removal of the Minister are daydreaming because his actions and ideas have been that of a father to the nation’s youths.
The argument of the Minister hobnobbing with a member of one of those many organisations thats interact with the ministry is a mirage as the Minister based on the fact that he is father to all cannot push away those he supervises whether at the top level or at the bottom.
The Minister has in a recent statement said that Federal government through the instrumentality of the Ministry of Youth and Sports has tried to resolve the NYCN leadership crisis. Clearly, those fuelling the crisis have no interest of Nigerian Youth at heart. MYSD has been left with one choice: Partner with Youth Organisations on merit..
You cannot stabilise a system by being dictatorial, you can only make corrections by valid judgements and interactions which the Minsiter has postulated.
The President of the Nigerian Youths Congress (NYC), Blessing Akinlosotu says that the Minister has been very open to the Nigerian youths and have always engaged leaders at all levels to stabilise the Ministry and foster a new face for the Youths in Nigeria.
The NYC therefore, calls on the so call Coaliton of Youths Organisations to stop the blackmail forthwith as it is fallacious and dumbfounded to link the Minister to any form of illegality.
We cast a vote of confidence on him because of his many accomplishments in promoting a new course for the nation’s Youths via the Nigerian Youths Congress and we can effectively say that he is doing well.
Also reacting to the call the Chairman, Governing Board of the Nigerian Youth Congress, Dr. Yakubu Shendam described the call as a waste of time especially now that the Minister is repositioning the Ministry to meet it objectives by establishing the Nigerian Youth Investment Fund NYIF which we believe will curtail the menace of unemployment of the Nigerian Youth Shendam explained.
