The President of the Senate, Distinguished Senator Ahmed Lawan, who was represented by the Deputy Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Distinguished Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has commended the leadership of the Nigerian Youth Congress for the great work they have been doing since the inception of the youth body.
In a strategic meeting with the Deputy Senate President in Abuja, Dr. Yakubu Shendam, Chairman Governing Board of the Nigerian Youth Congress (NYC) took enough time to brief the Deputy Senate President details about the history of the NYC and the work done so far.
The Deputy Senate President commended the leadership and promised the Senate’s support to the Nigerian Youth Congress because of their laudable achievements thus far.
After the meeting, the structure of the Delta state chapter of the Nigerian Youth Congress was handed over to the Deputy Senate President who promised to support them and also extend such gesture to the entire SouthSouth region and Nigeria at large. He promised to also brief the Senate President about the details of the meeting.
The inauguration of the Nigerian Youth Congress Delta state chapter have been slated for next month in Asaba, the Delta state capital.
Dr. Yakubu Shendam used the opportunity to appreciate the leadership of the Senate and promised to do everything humanly possible to give Nigerian youths the best platform that can compete favourably with international youth bodies all over the world. Dr Shendam also took time to inform the Deputy Senate President about the forthcoming inauguration of the United Kingdom (UK) and United States of America (USA) chapters later this year.
