Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde said on Monday that the government would immortalise the late Commissioner for Environment and Natural Resources, Mr. Kehinde Ayoola.
The governor spoke during a special valedictory Executive Council session in honour of the deceased.
Extolling the virtues of Ayoola, Makinde pledged to sponsor his children’s education to any level.
He said the government remained united with the family in bearing the loss, adding that the late commissioner was a loyal friend, who moved with him from one political platform to another since he conceived the ambition of becoming governor some years ago.
Secretary to the State Government (SSG) Mrs. Olubanwo Adeosun, Head of Service Mrs. Amidat Agboola and other members of the Executive Council had in emotionally laden speeches eulogised the commissioner for his brilliance, commitment to duty and doggedness.
Speaking on behalf of the bereaved family, the deceased’s twin sister, Mrs. Taiwo, appreciated the tributes from members of the Executive Council, noting that such encouragement would strengthen their emotional capacity.
Ayoola, a former Speaker of the House of Assembly, died last Thursday in Ibadan during a brief illness.
