The Nigeria Youth Congress (NYC) has appreciated the President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR for having the ears of the Youths through his ever reliant Senior Special Assistant on Youths and Students Affairs, Hon. Nasir Adhama.
In a statement made available to journalists in Abuja, President of Nigerian Youth Congress, Blessing Akinlosotu commended the doggedness of President Muhammadu Buhari GCFR and Hon. Nasir Adhama, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youth and Students Affairs for their support for the Youths of Nigeria.
He described the initiative of the Presidential Youth Empowerment Scheme Programme (P-YES) as one of too many of the President’s keen commitment to ensuring the Youths of the nation are placed in proper perspective.
Earlier, the president had approved every November 1st as a National Youth Day to celebrate Nigerian youths.
In the current Nigeria 2021 budget, the president had promised scholarships for Nigeria youths which is also a win-win for the Nigerian youths.
Earlier, the president approved the 75 billion Naira Nigeria Youth Investment Fund (NYIF) to serve as a sort of youth bank that will fund and support innovative ideas, skills and talent of Nigerian youths.
The P-YES is an indication that the president is youth-friendly and values the place of youths in governance.
It is at this point the NYC commends the dogged efforts of the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Youths and sports, Hon. Nasir Adhama for his unflinching quest for youth growth in Nigeria. He has shown that in his capacity he leverages on the president’s interest on youths to render selfless service to the youths.
His labour in ensuring youths make progress is not in vain.
We hope that the P-YES programme will be a starting point to curb unemployment and other social vices among the Youths.
